The 100Hz Nemesis

Today the project started in earnest...

The drummer arrived. He set up. He his his kick drum. Boooooooooooooooooooom. The frequency 100Hz lasted about forever! The room acoustics were altered using carpet off cuts and a couple of accoustic tiles. A bean bag was also stuffed inside the drum! the picture shows the drum kits before mic placement and beanbag. An updated pic will follow tomorrow.

The computer was also giving grief today. Cubase SE 3...really hard to alter which track is being recorded of which input source. Cue run home to get SE1 and install. After this recording wroks fine!

Sound check took 5 and 1/2 hours. It was just sooooo time consuming tuning the kit to the room. However it now sounds really cool. Needs a bit of post production but should give a really groovy sound.

Tomorrow is the main drum recording with bass at the same time.

Fingers crossed it runs smoothly!
